SCHRECKENGOST PROJECT

A goal of mine was to turn our program into a “real-world” working environment, one in which students would work with others both in, and outside of, the building. The Schreckengost tribute piece was our first  large scale “real-world” project. TFX worked with students from Polaris Career Center to design, create, and fabricate a large scale caricature of Victor Schreckengost. He was a local artist, inventor, teacher - who at the time, was getting ready to celebrate his 100th birthday. We also constructed a 10 foot replica of his famous AIRPLANE PEDAL CAR. Students from four different departments, in two separate buildings worked for two months to complete this project. This page reflects TFX’s contribution.
